Our
statement of faith was adapted from various confessions and creeds by
Mark Bahr.
We
believe in one God, who in His very being is eternal, infinite and
unchangeable in knowledge, power, holiness, justice, goodness and truth.
This one God whom we worship exists eternally as the Father, the Son and
the Holy Spirit.
We
believe in the Father, maker of heaven and earth and of all things
whether they be visible or invisible.
- He is to be worshipped and adored both now and forevermore.
We believe in the Son Jesus Christ. He exists eternally as the Son of
the Father, though being of the same substance as and equal in deity to the Father.
- All things were created through Him and for Him.
- He left His place of glory, was born of the virgin Mary and became
fully man.
- This God-man suffered, died and bled as our substitute under Pontius Pilate at Calvary.
- He was buried and on the third day, He rose from the dead proving His Sonship and victory over sin.
- He ascended to the right hand of the Father.
- He will return bodily in glory to judge the living and the dead and to consummate the endless Kingdom of God.
- He is the sole mediator between God and man, and salvation can be found only by Grace alone, through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone, for the glory of God alone.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is of the same substance and equal
in deity to the Father and the Son.
- He too is to be worshipped and adored.
- He inspired the writing of the Holy Scriptures.
- By convicting of guilt in regards to sin, the righteousness of Christ and judgment
to come, He draws people to the Son and brings them new life so that
they will believe upon Him.
- He indwells the bride of Christ, that is the Church, as individuals and as a community.
- He gives gifts to God's people for service and conforms the people
of God to the image of the Son.
- He is the down payment of our inheritance and will see us through to the end.
