Aaron Greenway, now in his thirteenth year of music ministry has accumulated hundreds of concerts and special music events, three studio recordings which have sold over a thousand units, radio airplay, and many souls won for the Kingdom of God.
But none
of this has come without spiritual and vocational preparation. As early
as 1981, Aaron was involved in children's musicals, productions, dance,
acting, choral groups, and special ensembles. Aaron comments, "Early
on in my life, as a child, I was involved in things that God, no doubt,
used to prepare me for ministry."
But, it was
Aaron's spiritual awakening that set the stage that God would put him
on to minister to the hearts of hundreds of thousands of people. In 1987,
Aaron had a personal encounter with the Savior. Aaron adds, "At that
point in my life, I was so beaten down by circumstances at home and at
school, that it was clear that I had no where else to turn, but to Christ."
In addition
to Aaron's salvation, God began to work mightily in his life, "I
would literally spend two or three hours on my face a night and in the
Word, because God was working that renewal in my life." Out of this
was birthed a desire to share the good news of Jesus Christ with anyone
who would listen. Aaron's first aspiration was to be a pastor. But, the
Lord had other plans.
In 1989,
Aaron was assigned to sing a solo as a step-out line in an ensemble at
the school he attended. From that point, Aaron began receiving phone calls
and invitations to sing at churches. "I was scared to death! But
by the end of my senior year in high school, I knew that God was leading
me into the music ministry." And so, in 1991, Aaron began studying
formal voice in college.
With his
music ministry growing each year and souls being won and challenged,
Aaron has had the opportunity to sing in not only churches, but anywhere
from
a nursing home to sharing a stage with major Christian artists at Christian
music festivals. In the process, Aaron released Heritage in
1995, Restoration in 1997, Urgent in 2000, three
albums that have reflected Aaron's journey along the way. "I
don't think you can make a serious, 'real' album unless it reflects
where you
are on a
deep
personal level."

In conjunction
with the music ministry is the second call that God put on Aaron's life
in 1995. Aaron explains, "I was at my church in the evening service
to hear the report on the teen mission trip that was taken to Jamaica.
Each member of the team got up and gave his/her testimony. No one in the
group was a great orator, but by the end of the presentation, I was totally
broken. An altar call was given and with tears streaming down my face
I went to the front. The youth pastor took one look at me and rhetorically
asked me, 'You're being called, aren't you?' All choked up, I nodded.
"From
that point on, I have had a huge burden for the mission field and not
just the field, but also other missionaries that God is sending out. What
has helped to nurture this burden has been the different missionaries
that God has sent my way to help mentor me."
In 1998,
Aaron came to a crossroads that would take him to Dallas to study TESOL
(Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) at Dallas Theological
Seminary. It is through this experience that Aaron has gained even more
'missions awareness.' And as the solo ministry moves forward, it is Aaron's
hope that the music and the missions thrust of the ministry will challenge
and convict those on whom God has placed a call.
